Barnes & Noble
Customers Share the Gift
of Literacy Through
Annual Holiday Book
Drive

Grandville, Michigan, November, 2008

Barnes & Noble, located in the Rivertown
Crossings Mall, invite customers to share
the joy of reading with the launch of its
annual Holiday Book Drive. The book drive
begins on November 1 and continues until
January 1, 2009. The store's booksellers
and managers selected this year's book
drive recipient. The Santa Claus Girls will
be the recipient of the locally donated
books, and they will have the books
delivered to the children of Kent County.

The Santa Claus Girls (santaclausgirls.org)
is a 100% volunteer organization that
serves as a distribution network for gifts
during the holidays. With the financial
outlook a little tougher for all this year,
JoAnn Thome, a 20-year Santa Claus Girl
veteran, stated that the need for books is
the greatest they have ever seen. All
donations stay within Kent County and
over 12,000 families will be served.

Last year's book drive recipient was the
new Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming,
Michigan. Over 2300 books were donated.
The books are to be given to every child,
whether or not a patient, that goes to
the hospital. Metro Health employees
have been very enthusiastic about the
gift of literacy, which keeps children
occupied while they, or family members,
are treated at the hospital.

For further information on how you can
donate books please contact the Barnes
& Noble Rivertown Crossings Mall store.
Ask for Linda, the Community Relations
Manager, at 616-531-5875. Corporate
donations of funds for books are welcome.

Barnes & Noble, Inc., the world's largest

The company is the nation's top

in a row, the top bookseller brand. Barnes
& Noble Inc. will donate 100,000 books to
their Literacy Partner: First Book.
